We are recruiting support workers across the region from different locations, as we have social groups in various community venues in Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside Newcastle and Gateshead.

Our staff love supporting Autistic adults, and help them live their lives, in the way they want to live them.

We use person centred support, offer fantastic training courses and are a mindful employer. We offer an employee assistance programme and excellent rates of pay including expenses and mileage allowance.

Our core values are all about bringing fun, creativity and passion to the role. Everything we do is person centred as no two people who access our services are the same. Job title:Support worker
Job Purpose:To support autistic adults who access Autism Matters Newcastle services. To support members in community venues across the  region.   To ensure all members are supported as individuals. To ensure each session delivered meets our core values, of creativity, passion, fun, person-centred and evolving and improving.
Location:Various community locations across the North East, Uk and abroad.
Reporting to:Branch Manager-Kerry Patton
Hours of Work:Minimum of 12 hours a week contracted set hours or zero hour contract.( as our services grow and expand, so will the hours on offer)
Salary Range:£12.08 an hour plus expenses of 45p per mile.
Main ResponsibilitiesWe enable access to community activities. We use our own cars to pick up and drop off our members. We take part in all activities alongside our members,and support them with any communication or support needs they have. Our aim is to create fun sessions and individualise each session for our members. We support members on group holidays and also are launching a 1:1 support service. Our support workers will have the chance to access all the services we offer if they would like to.
To keep all documents updated. We use Google drive, documents and sheets.

Person Specification:EssentialDesirable
Qualifications & training:Educated to GCSE level, or has equivalent qualifications or experience.Educated to A level (or has equivalent qualifications or experience.)
Previous experience:Previous experience working in a customer-service based role. Acceptance and awareness of Autistic adults individual support needs. Previous work experience in a support worker role in a similar industry.
Experience of supporting Neuro-divergent adults.
Skills:
Good customer service, good communication and organisational skills, ability to multi task and proficiency in using Google suite and gmail. Creative and able to display understanding and empathyUnderstanding of Neuro-divergent differences and support needs.
