Our Newcastle branch turned one year old this month!

By Admin - Autism Matters News

Time flies so fast when you are having fun, and this group KNOWS how to have fun!!!

We are so proud of our Newcastle branch and our project leader Kerry Patton. She has worked tirelessly to build a thriving social group for Autistic adults across the Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside regions.

Social group sessions and short breaks are currently on offer at our branch, and soon we will be launching our 1:1 PA service.

Our members are absolutely loving what we do, I cannot describe in words how much we are doing to change lives. We absolutely are blowing our own trumpets here. And rightly so, the work we have done to help our members live their best lives has not been an easy task. Kerry has persisted, promoted and challenged outdated ideas. She has networked and partnered with some absolutely outstanding organisations and charities to promote our user led services. She has made links with Social Workers commissioners and the Integrated Care Boards, secured direct payments and Individual Budgets for members so they can access the support they are assessed for.

A year down the line and this train is rolling, you don’t want to miss this ride!

But don’t take my word for it, hear what our members have to say about it.

Check out our new you tube channel to watch our 1 year celebration of all that AM Newcastle has achieved so far..

Thank you to Richard, one of our members for making this mini film, showcasing our work from a members viewpoint. 100% proud of you Richard, thank you so much, you are an awesome legend.
